Possibly the hottest, and most controversial, term in industry today is “ESG”. ESG stands for “Environmental, Social, and Governance”. Depending on what side of the political aisle you stand on, ESG is either woke nonsense, or wise thinking. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, and I think everyone can agree that Energy Efficiency is important.
Bitcoin(s) use a Proof of Work (“POW”) algorithm that involves high intensity computing calculations to secure the network. That computing uses power. Lots of power. But to put that in perspective, so does Google, Facebook, Amazon etc. To live in a world of technology…. means that all of our devices, and the Super Computing Networks that run behind the scenes…. are going to use enormous amounts of power. So the efficiency of that usage becomes important.
Since the “Bitcoin Blockchain” is undoubtedly the future of technology, this campaign thought it would be nice to compare the ESG / Energy Efficiency of the 2 leading, and competing, Bitcoin Blockchains:
Bitcoin (ticker: BTC) and BitcoinSV (ticker: BSV)
So, how DO the 2 versions of Bitcoin compare in their Energy Efficiency standpoint?
Well, as you can see from the opening chart (PopUp Large Image)…. BitcoinSV/BSV is the clear winner. The comparison isn’t even close. In the past few years BSV has been steadily climbing in efficiency metrics, while Bitcoin/BTC has stagnated, stuck with it’s 1mb/block transaction limit set by the Segwit Technology.

It is a simple issue of technological capability, scalability, and efficiency.
